How Outpost VPN works
A web control panel for Xray and Hysteria 2 that brings connections, routing, traffic, configuration, and server operations into one place.
A control panel, not a new protocol
Outpost uses the mature Xray and Hysteria 2 engines for the VPN transports. It installs them, keeps their credentials and services coordinated, and presents them as one understandable system instead of separate configuration files.
Configure the engines in the browser
The guided settings cover the normal workflow. When deeper control is needed, the panel also lets the owner edit full Xray and Hysteria configuration templates, preview the resulting files, validate them, and apply changes with automatic recovery if a service does not come back healthy.
Manage connections and subscriptions
Create, rotate, and archive connections from the web interface. Each connection gets one stable subscription link that compatible apps can turn into Hysteria, Xray, Mihomo, or sing-box profiles without exposing engine credentials in the panel.
Publish routing from one place
Routing changes move through draft, review, and publish. Subscribed devices receive the current rules from the same link, so a new blocked site or server-side change does not have to be configured on every phone and laptop.
See traffic and health without browsing logs
Outpost collects aggregate traffic and online state per connection, plus service, port, disk, TLS, and protocol health. It shows what is working and what needs attention without storing a history of visited destinations.
Operate the whole server with AI
The same panel manages signed updates, encrypted backups, recovery, domains, and security events. Native MCP lets an AI assistant check status and prepare changes, while sensitive operations remain scoped and require explicit confirmation.
